Light snow is steady across the region this evening. Generally 2-4" can be expected with up to 6" in a few spots by noon Tuesday with some morning lake effect Northeast. Temperatures will fall fast and be in the teens by morning and near 10 by evening. Not much snow after Tuesday but very cold air will remain in place most of the week.
Drive with caution tomorrow morning, snowy roads and wind will make for some tough conditions.
Scott, I know its impossible to accurately forecast the weather over a week out, but i was just wondering what your ole' reliable "gut" was telling you about the end of february/march. Do you think it will be a repeat of last year!?
ReplyDelete2 hour delay for us here today. It was coming down still this morning but quickly came to an end. More snow out of this than the storm last week....we will take it! Fresh few layers for snowmobiling and snow sledding with the kids! Drive safe everyone!
ReplyDeleteNice thaw next week. We will lose a lot of this snow.
ReplyDeleteWas there lightning over Brighton last night?
ReplyDeleteAll I hear is crickets.....very quiet in here!!
ReplyDeleteWhen did you see it?
ReplyDeleteScott- was there thunder snow or lightning in Brighton last night????? because i was going over a bridge near the highway when all of a sudden the sky lit up like crazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteprobably around 830pm
ReplyDeleteI hear it was an UFO.
ReplyDeleteYES, I saw that! I was traveling north on 390 in Henrietta right at that same time and I noticed a very bright flash looking north toward Brigton/Rochester. It looked just like lightning given how broad of an area of the sky lit up. It was right around 8:30 as you noted.
ReplyDeleteScott, were there any reports coming into the newsroom last night of transformers blowing or a house or car fire with explosions in the area? It seems hard to believe that it would be lightning since the dynamics weren't that strong last night to produce it. It was also very foggy with low ceiling, so smaller lights might have reflected more. The brightness and broadness, and the fact that it was a flash was what was odd, though. It was also an electric white flash, not an orange flash like a city light.
ReplyDeleteit might have been a UFO did anyone else see the lightning????????
ReplyDeleteI saw the flash from Gates. Figured it was the airport...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's some logical reason for it. Like I said, it was foggy with low ceiling. That alone can take lights from the ground and reflect it in the sky to make it look huge.
ReplyDeleteyeah i guess but still it could be something creepy!!
ReplyDeleteIt happened twice, I think, once around 8 and again at 8:30 - our lights flickered too. It was either lightning or UFO...
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one that experienced it!!!
that's right the lights did flickered around that time!!!!!!!!
