It may be too far east but I think there will for sure be a storm on the coast that will strengthen. Hopefully the models keep taking this a little further West. But as Chris or Caledonia said (I can't remember who) a couple days ago, the pattern has technically changed, especially terms of the MJO. It looks as though blocking may set up by the end of the month, with some potent cold trying to drop down, but we'll see. If that happens, we could get a humdinger to come up the coast, after all, late Feb. and early March is the blockbuster time frame. Anyone have thoughts on this?Weatherguynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793508672957135735.post-88042520481618135882012-02-14T20:36:11.929-05:002012-02-14T20:36:11.929-05:00Why are their no storms this winter? No big storms in sight it has been a very surprising winter. I do not think we are going to get one big synoptic snowstorm the entire winter. The pattern/elements are just not there and time is running out. We have a better shot heading into March for ice storms than snowstorms. No one wants s devastating ice strom we all remember those.Andrewnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5793508672957135735.post-42217525600762594982012-02-14T18:13:55.693-05:002012-02-14T18:13:55.693-05:00Winter is over, back up to 40 next Tuesday.
