STRONG GUSTY WINDS FOR WEDNESDAY
Written by: Brian Neudorff
As a cold front moves through Western New York today winds across the region are going to increase. The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a wind advisory from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, but was does a wind advisory mean?
Here is what the National Weather Service defines as a wind advisory: A Wind Advisory may be issued if there are sustained winds of 31-39 mph for a period of one hour or longer, or if there are gusts in the 46 to 57 mph range for any duration of time.
As a storm system passes to our north we will see sustain winds this afternoon from 20 to 30 mph out of west, gust could be from 40 maybe even 50 mph for a few places.
