Written By: Scott Hetsko
This past Winter started very early and kept running hard until the first week of February, then it pretty much stopped! Snowfall, the real benchmark for Rochester, bears this out well. Let me give you some general numbers then I'll break them out by month. Above average snow fell starting in November with 11" of snow for the month. December set a brand new record for snowfall with a staggering 46.2" January was cold and snowy, 29.3" for the month was just a few inches above normal. Only 13.9" of snow fell in February but then came the 4th lowest snow total ever in March with a measly 1.4"!
CONSIDER THIS:
17.1" of snow fell in Rochester from February 1 through the end of the season. We had 17.4" of snow in just 3 days in December (19th-21st)!
NOVEMBER: 11"
DECEMBER: 46.2" (NEW RECORD)
JANUARY: 29.3"
FEBRUARY: 13.9"
MARCH: 1.4" (4TH LOWEST EVER)
APRIL: 1.8"
