WE NEED RAIN! (NO REALLY, WE DO!)

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

First and foremost, a happy Memorial Day to all. I'm very proud to have a nation full of so many men and women willing to dedicate our lives to preserve our freedom. I'm also very glad that the weather couldn't be better for your day!

But lets talk rain. We need it folks. We have a 1.09" deficit for the month as of this writing, with it getting worse each gloriously sunny day. Not a drought, but I'm already beginning to see brown spots on my lawn.

Don't worry, Mother Nature is here to help. The jet stream in it's higher north position will allow for a slow increase in moisture during the day Tuesday, with widespread periods of rain and even an opportunity for a few thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. Overall, I wouldn't be surprised if most of us saw over a half an inch of rain from Tuesday-Thursday. Locally higher amounts are likely as well.

So get the lawn cut in the next few days, because chances are, it's going to remember how to grow fast again once the rain falls.

Enjoy your days off!
