WE NEEDED THE RAIN BUT WOW!

Written by: Brian Neudorff

What a day! Going into Thursday Rochester had received only 1.09" of rain but for the last 2 days we nearly doubled that with 2 inches of rain between Wednesday night and Thursday night. Thursday's amount of 1.73" was a new daily record shattering the old record of 0.85" set back in 1984.

We needed the rain across Western New York. Rochester had a deficit of a little more than an inch below the average going into the week but after this weeks rain, Rochester is now a half an inch above the average with a monthly total of 3.09" (Avg. 2.52")

Looking ahead to the weekend, it looks mainly dry. There is just a chance of some light scattered showers Saturday night into Sunday morning, but no where near the heavy rain we saw Thursday and Thursday night.
