"JUST RIGHT" HEAT IS HERE
Written by: Bob Metcalfe
So what do I mean by "just right" heat exactly? If you ask anyone in the deep south or even the southern Midwest right now, they could tell you I'm pretty sure.
The middle of the country is baking right now, with highs consistently in the 90s and even 100s the past few days, with no signs of it ending. While its true that we'll be warming up by Wednesday, we have a small defense mechanism from extreme heat and humidity. Look at the graphic above. Remember that record rainfall on Saturday? Well that's the same store, locked just off of the northeast coastline. Until that disappears or gets pushed away, it will block the major heat from overtaking the northeast.
I call that a blessing. Personally, I think 85 is just right, especially if the humidity values are in a decent range, which they will be.
A little change coming on Thursday however, as a weak cool front will skim by our north, bringing more clouds and a chance for evening rain/storms.
