TOO COOL FOR JULY

Written By: Scott Hetsko

I've checked the climate history of Rochester July's going back 70 years and 2009 is the coolest yet so far! We've still got a little over a week to change the numbers but here's where we stand right now. The temperatures you'll see below are the mean for each day in July. In and "normal" July the monthly mean is about 70 degrees.

2009: 65.2 Degrees
1992: 66.6 Degrees
2000: 67.1 Degrees
1965: 67.5 Degrees
1997: 67.8 Degrees

  1. Hasn't it been great !!! Hopefully, it doesn't warm up much more for the rest of the month, and August as well. I saw B. Neudorff's data this morning suggesting that there should have been 13 days in June where the temps reach 80. According to the NWS website, the 30 year averages suggest that only 2 days in June should reach the 80 degree mark. Was Brian's data for somewhere in Arizona ?....
