Refreshing Winds will Blow this Afternoon

Written by John DiPasquale:

All I can say right now is AHHH!!!! After tying the all time record high for May 31st yesterday in Rochester when hit 91, a cold front will provide relief for the late morning & beyond! Temperatures will essentially plateau through the early afternoon, before slowly dropping off through the 70s this afternoon. Gusty west-southwest winds will be responsible for ushering in the more comfy air mass this afternoon & evening. It's going to feel great after what we endured yesterday through the start of today! Take it in everyone.

After a gorgeous afternoon, tonight will be brisk, but quiet with some extra clouds late in response to yet another reinforcing shot of colder air. After the second cold front moves through late tonight, boy will it turn cool. Lows come tomorrow morning will range from the mid 40s to around 50! Highs tomorrow will struggle to make the mid 60s on our Thursday, despite copious amounts of sun developing during the afternoon. There will also be a cool, gusty wind blowing to accentuate the cool temps on Thursday.

High pressure will crest over the area late Thursday night through Friday, setting us up for a chilly start to Friday, low to mid 40s, but we should recover to more seasonable temperatures to round out the week under plenty of sunshine.

A warm front will try to push through Saturday & as a result we will see a lot more cloud cover Saturday with a few showers & storms possible. Highs will likely be in the mid to upper 70s & basically stay there with some sun Sunday into the start of next week. So overall, it appears we are in for a mainly dry & comfortable stretch of weather, which is great news for the lawns & all of our outdoor plans.

  1. At 4 in the afternoon it's 86 in Dansville with a humidity value of 18%. The dewpoint is 38. Winds are gusty. How long you think it would take to dry clothes on an outside clothes line this afternoon in Dansville???
