New Year, New Bitter Cold Airmass!

Written by: Scott Hetsko

2008 will start with several inches of snow across Western New York as an area of low pressure moves across the border with Pennsylvania. Temperatures grow much colder Tuesday night as Arctic air flows South. Winds will be out of the Northwest which will develop multiband lake effect snow off of Lake Ontario. Several inches of snow will fall on Wednesday in localized lake bands North of the Thruway. Biting winds and bitter cold temperatures with highs struggling to reach 20 degrees! High pressure will act to squash the snows for most by Thursday afternoon.
