Earth Day 2008
Written by: Brian Neudorff
38 years ago today on April 22, 1970, 20 million people across America celebrated the first Earth Day. It was at a time when smog was choking cities and rivers were so polluted that they would actually catch on fire. Today, Earth Day is not just recognized in the United States, but around the world.
We have come a long way since the very first Earth Day but there is still more we can do. Becoming more energy efficient has become more cost effective and there is so much we can do by just reducing, reusing and recycling. It doesn't take much to be good stewards and take care of this planet we all call home.
