Possible Severe Storms Saturday

Written by: Scott Hetsko

The perfect atmospheric stew is brewing this weekend for some pretty strong thunderstorms. Very warm and humid air will be in place Saturday afternoon ahead of a cold front set to arrive Saturday night. Unstable air will be forced rapidly upward producing a rash of thunderstorms West of Rochester Saturday afternoon. I expect these storms to race Eastward at a 30-40 mph clip due to strong steering winds. Storms like these usually deliver damaging winds over 60 mph and at least penny sized hail. Be on the lookout between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. for the potential of severe weather. If any storms become severe, you can always get the latest right here at rochesterhomepage.net!
