Bermuda High Brings the Heat this Week
Written by: Brian Neudorff
A semi-permanent area of high pressure, commonly known as the Bermuda High, forms over the Atlantic Ocean during the summer and is the key weather player for most of the eastern USA. This will be the case as we go through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Winds circulate around a high pressure clockwise, these winds bring hot & humid air out of the Gulf of Mexico into the southeastern and northeastern United States. The main track of storm systems and fronts is pushed to the north, so unlike last week where we had hot days followed by cold fronts, we will see several days of hot steamy weather here in Rochester. With just a small chance of isolated and scatted thunderstorms.
