Where's the Steam? Are You Ready for an Autumn Chill?

Written by Brian Neudorff:

The first full week of August will bring us both typical August weather and typical October weather. We start the week like most of us picture August to be, warm with a little steam in the air. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s until Wednesday then we will see a large shift in our current weather pattern.

The jet stream, which is located high in the atmosphere and steers weather systems across the United States and the globe, will begin to shift to the south of western New York. As the jet stream slides south, cooler and below average air will be allowed to flow into the northeast. So the days of temperatures in the 80s will be replaced with temperatures in the 70s and possibly 60s, at least that is what we have forecast for Friday.

These cooler temperatures associated with an upper level storm will keep us unsettled going into your weekend with a good chance of showers Friday and Saturday.
