Indian Summer = Autumn Warmup
Written By: Scott Hetsko
The forecast for the weekend is for sunny skies and warm temperatures, Indian Summer...right? Technically that depends on where you are in Western New York. Indian summer is a name given to a period of sunny, warm weather in Autumn. not long before Winter. Occurring after the first frost, Indian summer usually happens in October here in Rochester.
Lake shore towns have not had their first frost, so technically this isn't an Indian summer for those areas. Who cares? It's going to be a warm and sunny weekend either way.
