NOW THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION!

There's no doubt that our viewers come up with the best questions and often ones that we as meteorologists don't think about when we are broadcasting! Here's one I got over the weekend:
"When you mention wind direction in a forecast, are you talking about the direction the wind is coming from or toward?"
For example, winds East at 10-20 miles per hour. The East is the direction the wind is coming FROM. So an East wind means the air is blowing FROM East to the West. This is important to understand as a viewer when it comes to forecasting our complication weather patterns.
