A MORE LIKELY FROST SCENARIO

Written by: Bob Metcalfe
Earlier this week there were frost advisories issued for much of the area with forecast lows expected to drop mainly into the mid 30s. However, this evening's forecast puts most of us even closer to the freezing number by early Friday morning, meaning an increased risk for frost development through 9:00AM.
Unfortunately the gorgeous weather of early spring led many of us to an early start outside. This has given us something to worry about with an early bloom possible from Lilacs, danger of frost killing young, vulnerable plants, and a desire for that warmth to return. Not to mention the fact that we have quite a deficit of rainfall going for us so far this year. Plants will be fighting an uphill battle over the next several weeks until we get some more productive rain storms into the area.
So dress warm early Friday morning. Other than that, it'll be a great day to end the workweek.
