IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING....

Written by: Scott Hetsko

Sure I predicted a dry start to the Summer season, boy have I been wrong in Rochester so far. We have been fairly warm but a train of storms riding the jetstream has resulted in nearly 5 inches of rain so far this month. It's tough enough to predict 4-7 days out, let along 90 days!

Although we've seen rain about everyday in June, we are not even close to breaking into top 5 territory for the month. We're two full inches away from number 5 on the list in 1996. We will continue to see showers every couple of days until July so we may get into the top 10. Number 10 on the list is June 1989 with 5.65". We may get there.

  2. Been another miserable summer in RaChaCha.
Good to see you manned up about your forecast. most would be making excuses. Anyway if this is our dry start to summer and it's supposed to get wet for real in August should I start rounding up pairs and building an Ark?

  3. BTW I would remind all that your 2009-10 winter forecast was dead nuts right on.
Is it tougher to forcast long term summer weather as compared to winter weather??
