FIRST SNOW!

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Yup. It snowed. Not here, but it Mt. Washington, NH. It's home to the world's worst weather and its already cold enough there for the first snow of the year. This picture shows their observation deck as of 10:45 this morning.

My college roommate did an internship at this observatory, and boy did he have some stories. First of all, you go up for a week at a time, in one of those tank-track things that transports every few days. They have a live-in cook. The winds there go over 100 mph regularly during the winter. He has a youtube video of him snowboarding across this obs. deck, driven only by the ridiculous winds. It really is a crazy place. The best part? You can visit there yourself!
