A Blustery Friday on Tap
Written by John DiPasquale:
Some sun has kicked this Friday off for Rochesterians, but for the most part clouds will be the dominate feature in the sky. Wrap around moisture circulating about the slowly departing & weakening nor'easter will usher in more clouds, a few showers & areas of drizzle/mist, especially this afternoon as a weak surface trough crosses the region. The most persistent & extensive shower activity will occur around & South of Buffalo due to lake effect off Erie. Highs today will only be between 50 & 55.
A few lingering showers/drizzle will be around tonight, mainly early, before some drier air slowly but surely takes over later tonight. This should lead to a little bit of clearing tonight. Lows will drop into the low 40s. Quite a few clouds will kick off the weekend tomorrow, but we should see some breaks of sun from time to time throughout much of the day. There's a slight risk for an early shower/sprinkle tomorrow morning, but most will be dry all day Saturday. Highs on Saturday will make the low & mid 50s.
Sunday will also be quite nice, albeit a bit chilly & possibly frosty to start, with some sun & highs in the mid 50s. This is great news if you have any outdoor plans over the weekend. Just be sure to have the jacket handy, because you will definitely need it.
Some showers will return to the region Monday with a cold front, but we should dry it out on Tuesday. Highs will be solidly in the 50s both Monday & Tuesday.
Tuesday night into Wednesday a strong cold front will come through & set the stage for the coldst air of the season & YES...the chance for a little bit of the white stuff Wednesday night & beyond. Stay tuned for the latest on our chances of snow later next week.
Have a great Friday & weekend WNY!!
heavy wet snow a possibility according to one of the models late next week...this according to NWS forecast long range discussion...could this hold true for a mid fall suprise??
