Nice & Seasonably Cool Today
Written by John DiPasquale:
How sweet it is to under a strong, large, sprawling high pressure system, especially this time of year! High pressure essentially overhead equals the pic to the left, & this is what we should see for the next several days as the high gets comfy & parks itself to the south of the area for awhile. Highs today will be a bit cool, but fairly seasonable as we'll top out in the low 60s.
After another cold night tonight, with patchy frost possible mainly near & south of the thruway, we will warm to around 70 Friday afternoon with another mainly sunny day!
The holiday weekend will feature even warmer temperatures & wall to wall sun!! Highs Saturday & Sunday will be within a few degrees of 80! Yes, for some this will be Indian Summer, which is defined as a big warm up that follows the areas first frost of the season. So since the Greater Rochester area, especially closer to the lake will likely not have experienced it's first frost yet it will not technically be Indian Summer for Rochester, but just south, near the thruway & many points south of there it will be Indian Summer because the first frost has occurred. Now, near & along the lake, which is within a few degrees of 60, a lake breeze will develop Saturday through Monday thanks to a light flow. This will keep lakeside areas mainly in the 60s to around 70 through the holiday weekend. Either way, it will be very nice for October standards. Enjoy all the outdoor activities that WNY has to offer this time of year & be sure to at least get outside for a little bit during this incredible stretch of summer weather in autumn!
Mid to late next week more seasonable air, along with some rain could very well return. Stay tuned for details in the coming days.
Thanks for keeping this blog alive John. It's one of my internet "stops" every day.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Caledonia! Thanks for stopping by on a daily basis! I'm sure it will become much more active in another month or two, once the weather get's much more active.
