Near Record Warmth Wednesday!
Written by John DiPasquale:
The warm up begins today, & goes into full force tomorrow! High pressure is currently sliding to the east & is giving way to a warm front to the south & west. The warm front is triggering some clouds in the sky today, but that's about it. The front will get through the region this evening, & in it's wake the gates will be open for the warmest air we have felt since early December when we last hit 60 on the 4th. Temperatures tonight will start in the 30s, but should rise well into the 40s by daybreak Wednesday with a pretty stiff southerly breeze.
On our Wednesday, it will be windy, but turn very mild, as highs shoot up into the low & mid 60s!! The record high for Rochester Wednesday is 66° set back in 1876! We will likely not be too far away from that, & I would not even rule out us tieing or even breaking it, but I would not bank on it. We should end up somewhere between 60 & 65, but boy it will be close, especially if we get full sun with a downsloping, gusty wind. We'll see...
On Thursday, a cold front will swing through late in the day with some showers/t-storm, & behind it a reinforcing cold shot of air will blast in on Friday. After being well into the 50s for awhile Thursday, we will be dropping through the 30s on Friday with a few snow showers/squall or two possible! Wind chills Friday will likely be dropping into the teens by day's end! Yeah, it will be a shock to the body for sure.
Saturday will be cold & sunny, but we will likely rebound in a pretty big way for Sunday with fading sun & maybe a shower late. The typical March madness is here! Enjoy the ride everyone!
Have a great night & get ready to get out & enjoy the nice weather tomorrow!
