Still Looks Dry, but Chilly this Weekend

Written by John DiPasquale:

Well, the NAM has come around to the GFS & EURO for late Saturday & Saturday night, but precip shield will still not be too far away.  With that being said, we should stay dry with snow & a mix as close to us as Northern Pennsylvania/NY Penn border Saturday night.  Other than keeping an eye on that system, the weather will be dry, brisk & chilly with highs in the 40s to near 50, & lows in the frosty 20s to low 30s right through the weekend.

On Monday, the last day of April, we will begin very frosty & cold again, but should rebound well into the 50s to around 60 with a good deal of sun.

May will begin pretty seasonable, but damp with some showers possible on Tuesday.  By Wednesday & Thursday temps should warm above well above average, 70s, but there will also be the threat of a scattered showers & storms both days, especially Thursday.  Signs of another cool down may be in the cards thereafter for next weekend.  We'll see...

Have a great day & weekend all!

  1. Looking at that HP staying further north I would say we need to watch Saturday night into Sunday. I would not be shocked if the storm moves more north and areas particularly south of Rochester gets wet snow.

  2. I disagree. High pressure is a ridge and will deflect the quick moving disturbance into PA as we've been saying since Tuesday. We'll likely get some cirrus and alto clouds but that will be all.

  3. Scott, I sure hope your right! Through us a bone and give us some hope that this cold pattern will end soon and won't come back.

  4. Scott and News 8 crew. I live in Hilton, about 1 mile from lake shore. I plan on doing my landscaping Saturday Morning. I know they are calling for cold weather Saturday night/sunday morning, and sunday night/monday morning Do you think it will get below freezing in Hilton, 1 mile from lake shore?

    Thanks!
