A Wet Start to June
Written by John DiPasquale:
Today will be cool with peek-a-boo sun & highs only in the mid to perhaps upper 60s in spots. Tonight will be quiet & cool, but then that changes for our Friday.
Latest data seems to suggest that we will experience some heavy rain & maybe a few embedded t-storms late Friday & Friday night. GFS & NAM are putting out a good 1 to 2+" of rain for many, per the graphic above, during that period, which we could use, but I believe some of it will come in the form of downpours. Stay tuned over the next 24 hours to Scott tonight & Stacey & Scott tomorrow with updates on this pending rain storm. The good news is that the weekend should dry some, & expect a mainly dry Saturday with just a shower or two possible early & later in the day. Sunday will likely feature a few scattered showers/storm due to some wrap around moisture, some upper level energy & a pocket of colder air aloft expected to be overhead. Temperatures will likely peak in the mid & upper 60s Saturday, but should be near 70 Sunday. Definitely not pool weather, unless you have a heated pool maybe.
The overall pattern will likely remain a bit cooler than average heading through much, if not all, of next week with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s with intervals of sun, bit of a cool breeze & a few spotty scattered showers from time to time, mainly during the afternoon & early evening periods. No significant rains are expected at this point, though, for next week. Stay tuned to News 8 for more details in the days to come.
Have a great day & upcoming weekend WNY!
I can't BELIEVE it's raining! I'll never be able to put my sweaters away! Will this winter EVER end? ROCWhine
