Hot Today, Not Tomorrow...
Written by John DiPasquale:
Today should be the last 90+ degree day for awhile thanks to a cold front charging through late tonight/early Tuesday. Ahead, & with a cold front there will likely be a few scattered showers & storms late this afternoon into tonight, & any storm that does pop could become strong to severe with damaging winds & large hail. Once the front is through early to mid Tuesday morning, a much cooler & drier air mass will blow in making for a very pleasant Tuesday afternoon & Wednesday too! Highs with much lower humidity levels will be within a couple degrees of 80.
Late Wednesday night into Thursday an area of low pressure appears to be on tap for the region. The big question is...will the storm move right at us, just to the south or north. Either way, it looks like we will get at least some much needed rain from this system, & maybe a few stronger storms too. Stay tuned.
Have a great day WNY & stay cool today!

ReplyDelete5-DAY QPF GRAPHICS SHOW RAINFALL TOTALS ACROSS
THE FORECAST AREA TOTALING 1.5 TO 3 OR MORE INCHES WHICH WOULD PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED RELIEF TO CURRENT DROUGHT CONDITIONS.
This rain event will end the drought. Soon we will all be complaining that we have too much rain.
ReplyDeleteI dont think one rain event will end the drought. If the rain comes too quickly all at once there will be alot of runoff, the ground is so dry it is like concrete. We need a slow all day rain not heavy thunderstorm downpours. Beggers cant be choosers we will take what we get and like it.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a great stretch of weather. One of the best if not the best summer I can recall here.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's going to end. Once that rain starts it's not going to stop we will be swimming soon. Back to mowing sopping wet grass, yuck.
