The Warm to Hot & Dry Summer Continues

Written by John DiPasquale:

After a few showers & storms popping up on our Tuesday afternoon & evening, I expect a few to linger Wednesday, especially south & east of Rochester, as the weakening cold front slides through & washes out as it does so.  A couple of the storms later today & this evening could get a little nasty, so keep it tuned to News 8 for the latest.  Otherwise, between Wednesday & the weekend, it's looking mainly dry & it will likely turn hot again!  Highs will go from the mid to a few upper 80s through Thursday, but come Friday & the weekend we are looking at the low 90s with maybe another heat wave in store.  It's going to be close, & dependent on how many storms pop over the weekend.  As of now, it appears that there will not be too many storms developing over the weekend, but a few will likely be around during the afternoon & evening time frame.  We still do need the rain, but I know for all of you that have outdoor plans don't want it especially over the weekend.  Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming heat as we head into August tomorrow!

Have a great day WNY!

  1. Another 1.5 inches in Western Wayne county. That brings me over 4 inches in a week. The drough is wiped away in my area. The damage has been done though. Dead grass.
