A Hot & Sticky first Weekend of August

Written by John DiPasquale:

Today we should fall two or three degrees short of 90, but we will be right up around 90 tomorrow & into the 90s Saturday, as more heat & humidity return on the backside of high pressure.  It also appears that it will be mainly dry through Friday, but a few storms will likely pop up later in the day Saturday so just keep an eye to the sky if you have outdoor plans Saturday.  Most of Saturday should be dry though.

On Sunday, a strong cold front with some upper level spin & wind energy will likely spark a line of showers & storms that could very well be strong to severe during the afternoon &/or evening.  Stay tuned to News 8 through the weekend for the very latest.  Temperatures on Sunday should fall short of 90, & will probably be close to 80 come the start of next week!  Boy is that going to feel nice!

Tropics may be getting interesting over the weekend & especially later next week in the Gulf.  Stay tuned.

Have a great day everyone!
