Spring Feel for the Spring Forward Weekend
Written by John DiPasquale:
After a bit of snow on our Thursday night & early Friday, I do expect a nice warm up, & a feel & look of spring in the air over the upcoming weekend! Some sun & highs in the 40s & 50s Saturday & Sunday, respectively will really remind us of the season that officially starts in a couple of weeks. It also should be nice n' mild to begin next week, before we likely chill back down for the middle & end of next week with a little more snow possible at times too. I don't believe winter is over, but the feel of spring will also be occurring at times. More typical of March, compared to last March, which was more like mid to late spring or even early summer at times!
Have a good one bloggers!

Bring on spring!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! As much as I love a big snow storm, once March hits, I long for the sun and warmth. Last March was wonderful. I know it's not going to happen again, but maybe I can dream about April.....
ReplyDeleteBring on the sun!
I want last March.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking we go back and forth with temps the next 2 weeks with a stubborn block in the NA...then last week of March into first week of April we flip the switch on full out spring weather. I'm looking forward to it myself.
ReplyDeleteAs I have been saying we really have been in spring mode the last several weeks. I "The Troll" would like to point out that the snow fall for the season average will be well below the norms as will our average temperatures will be up. So even after all the beating I have taken the numbers prove it (The Troll) has beer right. In the end also right with this winter very similar to last year with snow fall.
ReplyDeleteyawn
DeleteNot sure spring is here. Keep an eye on the end of next week. I am not an expert but that is what I am seeing.
ReplyDeleteTemperature wise spring is clearly not here at the middle to end of next week. So if you're seeing a system for the end of next week, it should be watched.
DeleteProbably whatever does come will miss Western,NY. But I still think next Thursday-Saturday time frame bears watching. Things might get interesting on models starting Monday. That is what I am seeing.
ReplyDeletePretty much all of the snow mongers have figured out that spring has sprung. All they have to do is look outside today and tomorrow. Not sure why Andrew you just make up something. Get on board with spring. I ,"The Troll" have been right all along. There is nothing on the models. Not sure "What you are seeing". Please give it up lie the ret have. Thank you. "Your friendly Troll"
ReplyDeleteYawn, you've been wrong since December. You must have a mental issue. But buck up sad sack, eventually you will be right!
DeleteI have another astonishing prediction. In 24 hours from now, it will be 1 hour earlier than it is now.
Correction- 1 hour later than it is now.
DeleteLOL..
DeleteWe have missed almost evry storm this winter so another miss will not surprise me. The Boston area has seen 2 major stroms already and each storm produced over 2ft of snow. Western, NY is getting boring for snow.
ReplyDeleteWe might be talking lake effect by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteBoring lake effect. Whoopdi doo.
ReplyDeleteDid I say it was a big deal? Whoopdi doo yourself.
DeleteHello 60 degrees outside. Stop the snow talk. It is over nothing on the horizon. The Troll has been correct. Spring is here and our average seasonal snowfall way below. Hail to The Troll.
ReplyDeleteWhatever so called troll. Keep beating your misguided drum. I can tell you this. Keep an eye on the next 2 weeks. Particularly the week of the 18th. If cold air develops we could see a blockbuster some where on the east coast. That is how I see it so wait and see.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what all the other smarter blog members thing like David, Weatherguy, Hamlin, Chris and Jo-Sef to name a few. Wonder what you think about the potential for the next 10 days? I think the indices and other factors are setting up for a possible BIG storm on the coast just what I am seeing.
ReplyDeleteI think there is potential like you are saying, but nothing to get excited about yet. If things look good as of this weekend we will have something to talk about, but as of now I'm just trying to enjoy the brief warm up.
DeleteIt could be Andrew but we will miss it like always.
ReplyDeleteIt is far away and I know the models really are not to be watched. But the monster storms we have on the east coast in the past were detected early on the models. Both Euro and GFS have shown BIG storms 10 days out but it may disappear. If still there late next week then maybe. The teleconnections and indices are ripe for a huge storm. Concerns again track but more importantly the availability of cold air this time of year. But remember many of our past monster storms have been in March.
ReplyDeleteDo we still have a possibility for LES this week?
ReplyDeleteThis blog has died even the News 8 mets have stopped posting.
ReplyDeleteSorry bloggers, I was in Florida for Spring Break last week! But Andrew is on to something. If you think we're done with snow for the season, think again...
ReplyDeleteEuro showing a big east coast storm the early part of NEXT week. Not showing up on GFS. Any thoughts about this?
ReplyDeleteI think all of you are out there. Again told you before spring has sprung. Have you been outside the last few days? Our snow is DONE!!!! Way below our seasonal average just as I "The Troll" have predicted. Put the shovels and plows away and get your grills and patio furniture out. Not sure why you snow mongers keep talking about these fantasy storms?
ReplyDeleteDude, you have been saying that since January, we have had alot of winter since then. Did you look at the forcast for the rest of the week, looks like winter to me. We don't need snow storms for it to be winter.
DeleteJust wondering what method the spring troll uses in his or her forecast.
ReplyDeleteWhat constitutes spring? It seems unless we get some kind of blizzard, and temperatures near zero, it's not really winter in the trolls eyes.
It's still winter whether we get 60 or 160 inches of snow, or whether the temperature is 20 or 60.
March especially is a wild ride where anything goes. When it snows in April or even May, does that mean it's still winter?
Unless you are getting paid for your meteorology skills, then I would say you're just like the rest of us on this blog.
Does News 8 ever post anymore?
ReplyDeletecan you blame them for not posting with all the idiots on this blog. Seems blogs are repositories for all that's wrong with human nature. Sad. I'm goin Anonymous never know if one these blogging morons is a stalking oversensitive moron.
