More Rain on the Way

Written by John DiPasquale:

More rain now building to the south & west & will be arriving here later tonight into the start of our Friday probably making for a very wet morning ride in Friday.  Watch out for significant ponding of water on roads & reduced visibility with downpours quite possible for the ride in tomorrow.  Temperatures will go from the low & mid 30s with pockets of sleet & freezing rain this afternoon to the 40s late tonight & early Friday & ultimately the low to mid 50s should be realized later Friday with a brightening sky & possibly even a little sun to round out the day!  The 2 to 4" of rain going back to late Tuesday through our Friday morning will likely lead to some flooding, mainly minor, in spots.  So if you live in a flood prone area be prepared to protect your property.

The weekend looks much drier, but still it will be brisk & unseasonably chilly with highs within a few degrees of 50 with a few scattered rain mixed with snow & graupel showers around through the start of Sunday.  The best chance to likely get the most sun out will probably end up being Sunday compared to what we see Saturday.  Either way, though, it will be much better than the last half of this week!

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Just remember "We need the rain"

Things won't dry out for a month now. What a mess. Freezing drizzle is a nice touch too.

  10. Not just dreary Rochester, but many places.

This is why when I retire I'd like to go south from about mid March to mid May. The mud season stinks. Otherwise I love our summers, fall and winter.
