We Will Get Wet at Times Through Thursday

Written by John DiPasquale:

On Monday, there will be a 30% chance of a few widely scattered showers & storms popping up this afternoon into the evening, but with the lack of forcing in the atmosphere I do not expect much to pop today.  A warm front will push in tonight into Tuesday & then stall overhead or at least nearby right into Wednesday, which will provide some additional low level lift/convergence with the daytime heating forcing to spark more numerous scattered showers & storms for Tuesday afternoon & evening & again later Wednesday.  A few of these storms could pack a punch with strong damaging winds & hail, so stay tuned to News 8 for updates.  Temperatures all along will range from 80 to 85, but come Thursday a strong cold front will slowly push through earlier in the day the way it looks now, which would limit the t-storm threat on Thursday.  In the wake of the cold front, it will turn windy & much colder later Thursday, & especially Thursday night into Friday.  Highs may not even get out of the 50s Friday, despite some late May sun!  Much of the upcoming holiday weekend looks cool, but dry at this time.  Stay tuned for updates throughout the week.

Have a nice night & enjoy the summery weather WNY!

  7. We do focus on areas of Monroe County points south & east usually because our the area for ratings is more focused on this region & not Orleans, Genesee or Wyoming counties, but we do talk about your area when there's action out your way. I think it's a good idea to focus on counties just west of Monroe County too, but the boss, above Scott, Stacey & I will have the ultimate say. We'll see what we can do to fix that, if possible...Thank you for watching, or at least trying to. Have a great day!

Anonymous May 20th, I do not believe we will have a frost threat this weekend now, but it will be chilly with lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s during the holiday weekend! Definitely have the jackets ready!

    Have a great day WNY!
