Mother Nature is About to Flip the Switch!

Written by John DiPasquale:

Well, most of this month has been cooler than average & wet, but the opposite pattern is about to set up for most of the end of the month thanks to the ridge of high pressure building in aloft, as depicted in the above picture.  There will be a slight risk during the afternoon & evening time frame of a spotty, pop-up storm or two, but most stay dry for the majority of each day through the middle of next week anyways the way it looks now!  This is great news after all the rain we've seen this June.  We need a nice dry stretch.  The heat should be snuffed out some later next week into the following weekend, but it's still way to far out there to have much confidence in that forecast at this point.  Stay tuned & for all of you waiting for some mid summer heat & humidity your time is coming...  Should be great pool & beach weather!

  4. Only a very brief shower where I was yesterday. Otherwise humid.

Looks like a fairly tropical next several days.

  5. Rain is in the NWS forecast almost every day next week but it's 50% chance or less. We're close enough to the edge of the heat ridge that disturbances moving over the top of the ridge could kick off some showers and T-storms.

I was hoping to dry out during this week, but of course the single downpour in all of WNY passed directly over my head late last night and put a dent in that hope. It would be just peachy if we could all avoid seeing any rain this week, but the trend this summer says otherwise. Watch the pattern stay cool and wet until November, then the moment we hit November we go to warm and dry for 5 months -_-
