Fall on It's Way Back in August

Written by John DiPasquale:

A seasonably warm start to the week will be replaced by more of an autumnal feel Tuesday through Thursday in the wake of an early Tuesday morning cold front passage & some rain/storm Monday night & early Tuesday.  Winds will whip out of the northwest a much cooler air mass in & ultimately should lead to a limited amount of lake effect rain shower activity later Tuesday afternoon through the start of Wednesday.  Highs will go from near 80 on our Monday to low 70s Tuesday, to maybe 70 Wednesday & 70 to 75 Thursday with more sun returning on Thursday.  Friday will feature some more sun & highs well up into the 70s, which will feel really good!

The upcoming weekend right now looks fantastic with high pressure remaining in control for the most part, as the air will likely to continue to warm to around 80 or a touch higher Saturday & Sunday.  The sky will likely feature a blend of clouds & sun with a slight risk for a shower/storm, but most, if not all, look to stay rain free, which is great news for your outdoor plans you may have set up!  Stay tuned for updates.

By the way, the PERSEIDS Meteor Shower peaks tonight like last night with about 100 meteors streaking through the sky from all directions with the peak of the activity occurring between about midnight & 6am Tuesday, but unfortunately we here in WNY will likely not have a good night for viewing.  A mostly cloudy sky will probably prevail through the night with some rain & a few storms likely to occur.  If you are lucky enough to get a chance to view the Perseids tonight get away from the city lights for the best viewing.

Have a great start to your week everyone!!
