High Winds Give Way to Big Chill over the Weekend

HIGH WIND WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 5PM

Wind gusts between 50 & 60 mph will relax pretty quickly after 2 this afternoon, as the intense storm responsible for the high winds races away from us.  Be careful out there if you will be out & about this afternoon.

Tonight will be quiet & chilly with lows in the 40s.  A scattering of showers will be around Saturday with a reinforcing shot of cold air.  Highs to start the weekend will be around 50, but plunge into the 30s for the second half of the weekend!  With the colder air any lake effect rain showers Saturday night will mix with & change to snow showers & flurries, which will linger at times through early Sunday afternoon.  All in all, though, Sunday should turn pretty sunny with a brisk wind.

After a very cold start to Monday, abundant sun thanks to high pressure will push readings into the 40s for highs, & then the high will slide to the east & we will get into a nice return flow on the backside of the high which will set us up for a significant warm up on Tuesday & Wednesday & possibly Thursday too!

Have a great day & weekend WNY!

  1. I've gotta say, getting smacked in the face by sharp bits of dry reed at 50 mph isn't too pleasant...
