HIGH PRESSURE KEEPS US DRY, BUT COLD THIS WEEKEND
Written by: Bob Metcalfe
Today's ugly transition from mild to cold will leave us with bitter cold, well-below-average temperatures for the entirety of the weekend. As if a general cold air mass wasn't enough, high pressure over the north-central US will force the cold air over us both Saturday and Sunday. Limited snowflakes near the shore are possible early Saturday, but the effects of the high pressure will squash snow chances by the middle of the weekend. Plenty of sunshine to go along with it!
On the sunshine note, that same high pressure seen in this image will have a huge effect in keeping a developing storm off shore. This means a several day stretch of chilly but still dry weather. Hey, if it doesn't snow, I'm not going to complain!
