JET STREAM, COME BACK NORTH!

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Well I'm officially back from my way-too-short vacation to Florida, and airport security would only let me bring back one of two things: sunshine or warmer weather. I opted for sunshine folks, because we haven't had enough, and if its sunny, then those of you that still enjoy winter activities can be happy and so can those who want anything better than cold and cloudy/snowy.

Pretty quiet weather will persist for several days, most likely through Tuesday with lots of opportunity for use of sunglasses. Unfortunately, the jet stream (as illustrated in the image) has moved to a more typical February location, well south of our area. We all know what this means: colder air from Canada is allowed to invade the northeast, and that is precisely what will stay here for several days ahead. It'll take time for another warm-up, which doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.
