PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL SAYS 6 MORE WEEKS OF WINTER

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Apparently the "prognosticator of prognosticators" doesn't believe in President Obama's message of change, as he saw his shadow at 7:30 am this morning at the historic Gobbler's Knob.

It is more likely than not that Phil see's his shadow, over time hes managed to see it 97 times, with only 14 years of a shadowless occurrence. It must require extreme cloud cover, because at that time there was easily overcast skies over that part of Pennsylvania, with a little snow in the mix.

So, as the story goes, winter must drag on. We've wrapped up one of the coldest January's of recent times.

As a side note, the 2000's have had quite a streak. Since 2000, the only year Phil DIDN'T see his shadow was in 2007.
