UPDATE ON EARLY WEEK STORM: A NEAR-MISS FOR ROCHESTER
Written by: Bob Metcalfe
The advertised storm that will ride up the east coast early next week will likely NOT have any impacts on Rochester, especially with regards to major snowfall. Our data suggests a track far off the eastern shores of the Carolinas/Virginia and up into the Newfoundland area, bypassing most of the northeast. .
While it could get breezy at times by Wednesday, the only noticeable difference in our local weather that we will see out of this storm is another drop in temperatures to well below-normal values by Wednesday, with daytime highs back into the teens. We are also likely to see lake effect snow showers Wednesday and Thursday as our winds turn to the north and northwest, a favorable direction for at least some accumulations for parts of Rochester. Stay tuned...
