THIS WEEK'S WARM-UP COMES AT A COST
Written by: Bob Metcalfe
A lot of people enjoyed the brief stint of warm air that hung around for the first half of the weekend, sparking some interest in the "So when's Spring coming?" category. Well folks, I can tell you this: we have a strong shot of hitting 50 by Tuesday, and going well above that point on Wednesday.
However, as is true with all things, there is a gray cloud in the sky (literally, and figuratively). In order to get this kind of warmth this time of year, you usually need a well wrapped-up storm to do the "pushing" from the southwest. Well that's exactly the case, and by Wednesday night, the warm air will begin to push away as a storm swings through the eastern Great Lakes, changing rain into snow by Thursday. But let's look at the glass as half-full for a minute here: We're hitting 50 quite possibly three times within 7 days... that sounds like winter could be breaking to me!
I've heard talk of "damaging" winds Wednesday night and Thursday. How strong do you think they could get at this point?
