SUMMER, HERE WE COME! (TEMPORARILY)

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Okay, by this point, it's safe to call the coming warm spell "well-advertised"... and rightly so. This weekend's temperatures will be at LEAST 15 degrees above normal, if not closer to 20 for most of the northeast. With forecast highs in the low 80s Saturday and Sunday, it looks like we should in late June or early July!

So why so warm? If you remember back to late last week, there was actually record numbers being put up along the west coast. In fact, LA saw at least two days at or above 90. Remember, weather flows west to east, so it took some time but the pattern survives and arrives in the east this weekend.

The best part: with high pressure sitting on our heads, it won't only be warm, but it will also be abundantly sunny to boot! Enjoy, and wear that sunscreen... I'm sure your pasty, winterfied skin is as prone to sunburn as mine is!

  1. I ennjoyed my first weather blog message, thanks Bob. I so wnated to be a meteorologist as a kid; used to stay up every night to see the weather forcast, and not cause I worried about my play-day weather:). There are no worries at 5 years old, right?
