CAN WE BE OPTIMISTIC SOON?

Want to get a rough idea of what the weather is going to be like here in Rochester a few days in advance? Well a look left (west) gives you some idea.

In the image above, you can see the words "comfort persists" across our state early next week. While comfortable may be good, some are still yearning for sweltering heat and a true summer feel. Let's face it, there hasn't been a day this year where I've said to myself "I really need to dip into a pool."

See the big bulge in the jetstream in the middle of the country? That little atmospheric signature often precedes a decent warmup for us. Now remember, we're below average by a bunch right now, so a warmup doesn't exactly mean 90's for us. In fact, that's going to be quite a task for us to achieve at any point in the near future.

Keep the swimsuits handy though. We can't give up on summer yet, and I'm sure August will deliver some summer... I hope.
