MOVING ON FROM EARL

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Earl is no longer a topic of conversation in the northeast, and for the most part, his biggest impact was flooding and a bunch of rain. Actual wind damages were fairly minimal. Phew.

As for us, we're putting up with wind of our own. Not quite damaging, but I had a few small branches lying in the driveway this morning. I've seen gusts around 40 at times during the day. This wind is expected to continue at 20-30 mph most of the evening, with occasionally higher gusts, but will slowly ease during the day Sunday.

On Sunday, the rain showers will be even fewer and far between, as warmer upper levels stabilize the instability brought about by the lakes. We'll go with variable sunshine with highs in the upper 60s Sunday. Monday isn't looking bad with decent breaks of sun, but a rogue shower could scoot through. It'll be noticeably more warm on Monday, as we approach the upper 70s by afternoon.
