WHAT A FALL FEEL

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

The 540 line (the blue hashed line) is over the area in this image (Sunday afternoon) which indicates a very cool airmass over the area. Typically, the 540 line is looked at as the rain/snow line in about a month or so from now. With the sun angle still high its much tougher to obtain a freezing layer at this point.

This will mean a chilly start Sunday and Monday morning. A few days ago, we were thinking frost possibilities, but as of now, it looks like that will be a harder task. Low 40s and a few upper 30s are certainly possible early Sunday, with the cooler morning holding off until Monday. Daytime highs now through the middle of the week will not reach above 60 degrees at any point, before jumping into the mid 60s by Thursday and beyond.
