Heat & Humidity will Ease this Afternoon

Written by John DiPasquale:

Cooler, drier air is beginning to build in from the west northwest in the wake of a cold front that is moving across the area now (11AM - 1PM). A storm has just popped up ahead & along the cold front across the Central Finger Lakes. Behind the front, there still will be the threat of a few scattered sprinkles or a shower or two, but overall it should be mainly dry from here on out for most, as the atmosphere stabilizes. Temperatures will drop into the 70s later this afternoon & into the evening.

Later tonight into Friday the air will be refreshing & pleasantly cool, as high pressure builds in from the northwest. Highs with some sun Friday will range from 70 to 75. Unfortunately, the area of high pressure providing with the nice Friday will get pushed out by a storm system developing out over the Plains right now. This storm will take the cold front that's moving through today & bringing it back into & through as a warm front later Saturday. This will likely lead to some showers & a few t-storms late Friday night into Saturday. It will be breezy & muggy Saturday with highs about 5 degrees warmer than Friday. Humidity levels will also increase Saturday.

Saturday night/early Sunday the same storm delivering the showery, stormy weather Saturday will sweep it's cold front through, which should leave us with a pleasant Sunday for the most part. Highs Sunday will likely be a bit cooler, but comfy to round out the weekend. As of now, the first half of next week looks pleasant with temperatures at or slightly below average.

Have a nice remainder of your Thursday everyone!
