Mainly Dry Today

Written by John DiPasquale:

It was a nice start to the work week, but today will not be too bad either. Yes, we will see a lot more cloud cover through the early afternoon, but during the afternoon in the wake of a cold front the sky will clear out & lead to a good deal of sun by the later part of the afternoon into early evening. It should be a great ending to today! The best chance to see any showers & a storm will be between about 10AM & 2PM this afternoon when the cold front makes it's way through.

A pool of cool air will drift down over us with an upper air disturbance late tonight into Wednesday which will produce some extra clouds & possibly a passing shower or two, but tomorrow should be a mainly dry, cool day. Highs, with a gusty west-northwest wind, will struggle to make 70.

High pressure will crest overhead Thursday into Friday & provide tons of sun & warming temperatures. After hitting the mid to upper 70s Thursday, we should make the low to mid 80s Friday afternoon.

The holiday weekend all in all looks pretty good right now, but there likely will be a few widely scattered showers & storms Saturday & especially Monday, the 4th. Of course the weekend is still several days away, so a lot can change between now & then so be sure to tune in to News 8 throughout the rest of the week to find out the latest as new information becomes avaiable. High temperatures over the weekend may hit 90 Saturday, & low to mid 80s Sunday & Monday. Either way, it looks like the weather will be supportive for your beach &/or pool plans!

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Gananda received no rain with that front today. We will still end up about 2 inches below normal for rain in June.
