Dry Today; Damp Tomorrow

Written by John DiPasquale:

If you have plans to hit the water today, or anything else out & about for that matter, the weather is looking fantastic today! Temperatures will reach the low & mid 80s with lots of sun fading behind some increasing clouds later in the day.

Later tonight into Wednesday we will be impacted by an area of low pressure with it's warm front moving by just to the south & west of the region. The result for us will likely be some rain/storm late tonight into early tomorrow. As Wednesday progresses, though, any rain should quickly taper to a few lingering showers & drizzle during the morning into the afternoon. I am also hopeful for at least some brightening & possibly a bit of sun peeking through the clouds later in the day before it sets. Wednesday will be quite muggy, but cooler due to the extensive cloud cover & few lingering showers. Highs will likely only reach the mid & upper 70s.

Wednesday night into Thursday, high pressure will build in & set us up for a good deal of sun & warmer temperatures Thursday into the start of Friday, before clouds increase some later Friday ahead of the next weak, moisture laden system. There could be a shower/storm late Friday.

The weekend will unfortunately be quite unsettled with some showers & storms around Saturday, & just a couple lingering Sunday. Highs will be in the low 80s Saturday & low to mid on Sunday.

Have a great day & enjoy the sun out there today WNY!

  1. John, the models show that storm missing us to the West impacting more like Buffalo South and West. We will be on the fringe. What do you see?

  2. I'm wondering the same thing. NWS seems to think we will be in for possible heavy rains late tonight, early tomorrow morning. But having said that, it appears the system will slide by west and south of us.
