Gloomy Start, but...
Written by John DiPasquale:
What a muggy weekend it was, but at least we did salvage part of the weekend & did not get totally soaked. Saturday ended up being the overall cloudier, but drier day for the Greater Rochester area points west, but off to the south & east a fairly steady rain fell Saturday. Sunday did feature breaks/intervals of sun & warmer, more muggy conditions with a scattering of showers and storms. A few of the storms did turn nasty too. The culprit for the showers & storms yesterday was a cold front & disturbance.
Today, another weak, secondary cold front will slide through with a few scattered showers/storm through the early afternoon, but behind the front the air will dry out & slowly turn more comfy with more sun evolving later in the day from north to south under a northerly flow. Highs today will be near 80.
A quiet, more comfortable night for sleeping with the windows open will be with us tonight, as humidity levels drop off. There will likely be some fog developing tonight too. Lows will be in the low 60s.
Later Tuesday into Wednesday we will likely have to contend with a scattering of showers & storms due to an upper air disturbance & yet another cold front. In the wake of Wednesday's cold front, the air will turn refreshingly cool & dry by late Wednesday through the rest of the week! Highs Tuesday & Wednesday should range from about the mid 70s to low 80s, but only low to mid 70s Thursday & mid to perhaps upper 70s Friday. So, if you like cooler temperatures & lower humidity like me, you will be an overall happy camper this week!
The weekend may turn a bit unsettled later Saturday & lingering into Sunday, but right now it does not look too bad, especially Saturday. Stay tuned to News 8 through the week for the latest.
Have a great start to your week everyone!
