A Good Soaking Today!
Written by John DiPasquale:
Rain, heavy at times this morning & early this afternoon will taper to a few spotty showers/sprinkles by the mid to late afternoon with breaks of sun likely to appears by days end. So improvements are on the way! Thanks to the rain & clouds, though, high temperatures will be no higher than the mid 70s.
The area of low pressure & upper air disturbance responsible for the rain today will shift off to the east this afternoon which will allow us to dry out some late today & tonight. However, there will likely be a bit more rain tomorrow developing due to a strong cold front & yet another upper air distubance. Tomorrow will not feature as much widespread rain as today, but there will likely be a few scattered showers & storms popping up. Any storm that does develop during the late morning & afternoon Wednesday will also have the potential to become strong/severe. Keep it tuned to News 8 for the latest.
After the slow moving cold front passes, we will feel the coolest air in awhile blow in from the west-northwest on a gusty wind tomorrow night into Thursday. High pressure building in from the west for Thursday & Friday will set the stage for some nice looking weather the last two days of the week with some decent sun. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s Thursday, & mid to upper 70s Friday, despite the sun.
Right now the upcoming weekend doesn't look too bad to start, but Sunday could be a wet one. Saturday looks mainly dry with highs approaching 80, but the end of the weekend may feature a storm to the south & east with some rain & a cool northeast flow. Highs may only reach the upper 60s to mid 70s due to the possible damp weather & cool northeast flow. Stay tuned to News 8 for the latest updates to the weekend outlook.
Have a great Tuesday everyone! Try to stay dry.
