Nice Week Ahead!
Written by John DiPasquale:
Well, much of the northeast deserves a nice day like we will feel & see today after what many went through yesterday thanks to Irene. Clean up is underway in the wake of hurricane/tropical storm Irene on this Monday south & east of Western & Central New York. Rain from Irene made it as far west as about Geneva & Penn Yan Sunday. It was pretty windy for us all yesterday, but at least most stayed dry here in WNY.
High pressure has already worked in from the west & will provide the region with a pleasant late summer's day to begin the new week. Enjoy!
A weakening cold front will approach from the north & west & attempt to throw some clouds at us later in the day & possibly a shower late, mainly north & west of Rochester. So most of us will be dry & nice again Tuesday! Highs will reach the mid 70s to around 80.
Another high will build in over us Wednesday & set the stage for another beauty with considerable sun & highs up near 80.
High pressure will lose a little of it's grip Thursday, but for the most part keep it's hold on the region & provide some more sun to finish out the week with just a slight risk for a pop up shower or two Thursday. Highs will likely warm into the 80s come Friday.
Labor Day weekend...well...does not look too good right now with some rain(showers) & storms developing Saturday & hanging around Sunday as the temperatures cool out of the 80s & into the 70s & possibly the 60s by the holiday. Stay tuned to News 8 for the latest on the week's & holiday weekend weather.
Have a great Monday all!
