Incredible Weather Stretch Ahead!

Written by John DiPasquale:

Other than a backdoor cold front sneaking through this morning, the weather is going to be very uneventful over the next week! A large, strong Canadian area of high pressure will be building in & will hang out across the northeast for an extended period. This will result in lots of sun, unseasonable warmth developing, mainly away from the lakes, & chilly to cool nights through early to mid next week!!

Areas of frost seem quite likely away from the lakes, especially south of the thruway late tonight & early tomorrow, & then again late Thursday night/early Friday, as little or no wind, a dry & chilly will be in place.

The combination of the weakening, but still fairly strong early October sun, the strong high drifting to the south with a fairly weak west-southwest flow & the air significantly warming aloft will lead to a nice warming trend this holiday weekend. After being at or slightly below average today & tomorrow, temperatures should warm to near 70 Friday & well into the 70s over the long weekend! There's even a chance that we could hit 80 or so. However, if you live within a few miles of Lake Ontario this weekend your temperature will have a tough time getting out of the 60s & low 70s due to a lake breeze that should develop each day through the start of next week. Either way, though, it will be gorgeous! Enjoy everyone!
