More Clouds than Sun & Cool
Written by John DiPasquale:
Well, about 20 minutes before noon when the pic to the left was captured the Rochester area was experiencing lots of sun, but shortly thereafter more in the way of clouds developed & moved in from the east around the big upper level storm across the Mid-Atlantic states. The rest of today will feature quite a few clouds & a few intervals of sun from time to time with a spotty shower/sprinkle or two.
It will be cool with temperatures hovering within a few degrees of 60.
The big upper level storm will slowly move to the northeast off the New England coast later Tuesday into Tuesday night. This will keep us mainly cloudy for much of the rest of today through the start of our Tuesday, but later Tuesday we should see more breaks of sun develop. There will also be the threat for a few more showers & patchy drizzle tonight into the start of Tuesday before we slowly dry out later tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will be between 60 & 65.
Late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning we will experience batch of clouds with a backdoor cold front moving through. Behind the front, it will be a bit brisk & a little cooler than average with increasing sun heading through Wednesday afternoon. Highs Wednesday will be around 60.
A chilly Canadian high will build in Wednesday night into Thursday & set the stage for a cold, probably frosty for many, start to our Thursday. Lows early Thursday will likely range from the upper 20s to mid 30s! Lots of sun will help us recover into the low 60s during Thursday afternoon, though.
After another chilly night Thursday, a warm front will most likely cross the area Friday with some clouds. Highs Friday with some sun should range from about 65 to 70, so definitely a milder day!
Right now the upcoming weekend looks FABULOUS!! High pressure should remain in control of our weather as it reestablishes itself to the south. This will ensure of a lot more sun & unseasonably warm temperatures through the weekend & probably into next week too!! Highs over the weekend could very well be well into the 70s to MAYBE around 80 by Sunday!!! Stay tuned to News 8 throughout the week for updates.
